In my opinion, commanding swarms of minions in such a manner is one of the better ways to play RPGs as nothing beats watching your army smash down the opposition while you kick your feet up.Undead Horde definitely delivered this experience in a short, palatable game. I've one hundred percented the game just after eight hours of gameplay, and while it does have a new game plus mechanic, I didn't feel much need to go back (Although the devs have stated that they're working on the NG+ system some more so we shall see). The itch was scratched, and I did thoroughly enjoy my time spent in game. The game however does have a few flaws. It plays a bit like a phone game as the mechanics aren't very deep. You, as the necromancer, can only attack (with limited weapon options), cast spells (with limited spell options), and raise dead (with limited enemy types to raise). Also, the AI for your raised minions is pretty bad. Often I found that my support minions would be on the front line preventing my melee troops from reaching the enemy and suddenly my entire army had been wiped. Lastly there isn't a way to pick and choose which of the dead you're going to raise. The game auto picks what you're going to raise (with a rather large emphasis on ranged I noticed).Despite these flaws though, I do believe Undead Horde is worth playing. If you're looking at buying this game, I'd through it on your wishlist and wait for it to go on sale, because base price is probably a little much for what you're getting.. So far not a lot to complain about. The game is on a decent way and as long as they keep working on it I am sure its gonna be a good one on release.Current content: Around 6 to 7 hours (beginning of May 19). A game about a necromancer. You start being able to summon corpses of peasants from statues in you lair (for free and without a need of corspes), then you kill enough axemen and axemen statue appears which you can use to fill your army with axemen instead of peasants before going on rampage. If you kill someone on the main map outside the lair you can always resurrect its corpse, for example, if you find some giant, resurrect it and keep it alive for some time, it will be a really good boost to your forces. The amount of units you can have is limited by command capacity. So you can either summon 150 chickens with 1 DPS and 10 HP which cost 2 capacity each or 6 bears that have 120 DPS and 2k HP which cost 55 capacity each. That's for you do decide. There are some secrets on map where you need to find a hidden switch or a chest. Main story progression is linear, you just follow the quests from caged skeletons which give you keys for next maps. There is some freedom in how you clear each map, you may go attack an ork settlement first or go and kill some scorpions so that you can summon them later, for example.Overall, the game is good and has rather rare gameplay. I played 2 or 3 games which allowed you to play as summoner\/necromancer with roster that develops the further you progress but I can't remember their names anymore.. If you've played Overlord this game is for you and very much worth it and the ability to customise your necromancer (to a certain degree) makes it all the more fun but overall if you want a game to pass some time I would easily recommend this game.. I played it through once. Beat it. Spent a couple hours experimenting with the mechanics. Ultimately an indie title like this lives or dies by the gameplay, and the gameplay is tedious. Despite the nice polish and good tuning, the game promises more than it delivers.. Amazing game! It almost reminds me of Populous in an odd way. Soundtrack is amazing. My only wish is that it had a SAVE\/LOAD feature.I've tested and it works perfectly with CPUCores: https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/384300\/. I just finished 100%ing this game. I had a fantastic time playing. If you like Overlord and Nekro(before it was pulled from steam), this game is definitely for you. RPG, items with stats, secrets to discover, new game+.
